Chilterns Gateway - feel the view
The stunning views have always drawn people to the Dunstable Downs. Our challenge was to share that experience with visually impaired people.
Working with The Dog Rose Trust we developed a bronze tactile toposcope so people could ‘feel the view’. We believe that this is the first of its kind in the UK.
The tactile toposcope and audio descriptions have proved popular new ways to explore the view. Other displays use Braille and tactile images.
